Karibu Kenya! PLAY HANDBALL Supercup the first time in Kenya to educate trainers and hence children around environmental friendly behaviour and how to deal with the waste situation.

We use Handball as a tool to create learning experiences for the youth around important socio-political topics such as environmental awareness. With its flagship project the PLAY HANDBALL Supercup going in its third year in South Africa, the model was replicated in Kenya, making it the first country outside South Africa to organise and host such an event. Play Handball Kenyan office organised this first environmental handball programme in partnership with the Federal Republic of Germany Embassy in Nairobi and Konrad Adenauer Foundation Kenya in Kisumu, Western Kenya on the 13th October, 2018. The 1st climate-neutral handball tournament series in South Africa is aiming to reach out with sport to the youth, bring kids from various schools and cultural backgrounds together and to educate them at the same time about the environment. PLAY HANDBALL ZA hosted the 1st PLAY HANDBALL SuperCup on the 24th of April 2016, 9am-5pm at the German International School in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town. Over 600 youth in twenty-two youth teams in three age categories from Cape Town up to Franschhoek participated in this educational tournament; the groups were Primary School Mix U14, High School Girls U16 and High School Boys U 16. PHZA is a sports and development organisation founded in 2013 in South Africa and is using handball to create positive change for children and communities. We are providing the knowledge on how to implement Handball in schools and how to combine it with life skills.
