Our journey to Tanzania started at 5.00 am on the 5th of may when we travelled by bus from Nairobi, Kenya to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Apart from the usual challenges at the border, the very long bus journey went smoothly and we arrived in Dar es Salaam.

6 weeks full of culture, people, public transport, handball and ugali (pap/maize meal).The month of March was a travel month for our founder and director Nicola. After a long break, it was time to visit our colleagues and project partners outside of South Africa again.

During the long summer holidays, our young coaches of the “Trilateral Youth Coaches Exchange” (TYCE) planned, organized and implemented a Holiday Activity using Handball as a tool to address social challenges in terms of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their communities.

On 26 November, there was a lot going on at the sports field in Utawala, Kenya. PlayHandball Kenya organised the first sports festival in Machakos Utawala with Deliverance Church Embakasi. Over 150 children participated in various handball and tchoukball games on the day, singing and having a lot of fun together.

On 22 November, the time had finally come: the new volunteers Yamina, Leo, Vincent and Lasse landed in Cape Town. After months of waiting, the four arrived finally in South Africa for the orientation seminar before taking the bus to the new project at the DOW Academy in Botswana.

Sport for development and peace – From the 19^th to 23^rd of September the volunteers Vincent Albers and Lasse Preissler visited another Global Sport for Development Knowledge Collaborative (GloKnoCo) fieldtrip, this time at the University of Brighton. Among representers of global acting organisations, like Vincent and Lasse, also students from the University of Brighton, the Paderborn University, and the Palacký University Olomouc took part in this final event of the Erasmus+ Network project.
