Just a couple of weeks after the start of the new school year a first friendly tournament was held at the Observatory Junior School in Cape Town, South Africa.

A total of 4 teams from the Observatory Junior School and the Essenhout Primary School in Delft participated in an afternoon of exciting handball games. Even though we played for fun, the kids were highly motivated to win. The tournament was organized by Lasse, one of our volunteers who coaches the teams from the Observatory Junior School:

“I am very impressed by the high quality, the teamplay and the fairness of today’s games. Especially considering that the kids have only been practicing handball for a few weeks.”, tells Lasse.

We hope that more teams will join the school games in the future. Besides Essenhout Primary School and Observatory, Hindle Road Primary School and the German School showed interest in a regular organized school competition.
